This ministry provides confidential counseling to families, marriages and individuals. Our counselors helps folks deal with issues like addictions, depression, anxiety, grief, marital problems, career changes, parenting strategies, self-esteem, Christian faith development and parent-child relationships. With children and youth, our counselors deal with behavior problems, developmental concerns, ADD/ADHD, peer relationships and sibling relationships, and growth in the Christian faith. This is not an exhaustive list but it does indicate some of the concerns that folks typically bring to the counseling ministry.
Dr. William A. Smalling holds a master's degree from Duke University and a doctorate from Vanderbilt University. He is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church. He is licensed by the State of Florida as a Marriage and Family Therapist, and an Approved Supervisor In Florida training interns working toward state licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist or Mental Health Counselor. Dr. Margaret L. Reynolds holds a BA in Religion and a master's degree in Christian Education from Scarritt College. Her doctorate is from Vanderbilt University in Human Development Counseling. She recently returned to her home state of Florida after retiring from a 25-year career in Nashville, TN that included counseling employees of Opryland USA, Director of General Sessions Court's DUI and Traffic Safety Programs and Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt University. Ms. Joan Kerwin holds a BA in Liberal Studies from Florida International University and a master’s degree in Marital, Couple and Family Therapy from Stetson University. She has been an education counselor with the United States Air Force and certified career specialist with the Pasco County School system for over 18 years. She has worked in a drug and alcohol treatment setting and has moved her private practice from New Port Richey to St. Petersburg. Joan has counseling experience working with adolescents, young adults, couples, families and individuals and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by the State of Florida.
