Dawn was called to First Church as Associate Pastor in July of 2011 after obtaining a Masters of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Up until 2008 she had been a practicing real estate attorney in Atlanta, Georgia for sixteen years. She sold her law firm to begin a career in service to the Lord. She is a member of the Bar and still is licensed to practice law in the states of Washington and Georgia.
She graduated University of Richmond in 1988 with a BA in Economics and Spanish and graduated the University of Memphis with a Juris Doctor in 1992. Dawn moved to Seattle, WA in 1992 to join her now husband of eighteen years, Doug Day. Her husband Doug is an aerospace and software engineer and worked for Boeing while in Seattle. Though her wonderful sense of humor, Dawn tells us that no, she did not change her name and become “Dawn Day”—for an obvious reason.
Dawn and Doug have two children. In their spare time they love boating, golfing, traveling, and reading.
