"Ignite School of Music" is a community and church outreach to teach Students and Adults Musical knowledge in theory and performance to bring Praise to God.  

Both the Teacher and Student will grow more aware of their instrument, and learn important goals for excellence in a Christian Environment.

    Born in Kentucky 1978, John Richardson grew up in Virginia and moved to Saint Petersburg in 1992.  John graduated Countryside High School in 1997 and achieved an Associates Degree in Fine Arts from Saint Petersburg College then a Bachelors in Music from University of South Florida and eventually a Masters in Music and Jazz Piano Performance from University of South Florida.  John’s love of piano started at age 7 but his love for jazz piano and music theory started in high school with the Countryside High School Jazz Big Band. 2001 John began teaching private piano lessons which started his lifelong passion for teaching music. In 2008 John became part of the Saint Pauls School of Clearwater adjunct music faculty and in 2014 worked as a part time adjunct faculty member for the Saint Pete College MIRA program.  In 2016 John won the Steinway & Son’s Top Music Teacher Award. In 2018 John joined the Players School of Music teaching jazz styles and application.

         John has built an extensive professional performance resume preforming with the best musicians in Florida and well known artist from around the world including Kevin Mahogany, Wayne Jones, Fred Johnson, The Powell Brothers, Whitney James, Diego Figueiredo, Jeff Kashiwa, Marion Meadows, Michael Lington, Nelson Rangell, and Steve Oliver.  John plays the Hammond organ and second keyboards/synthesizer for the First United Methodists Church of Saint Petersburg in the First Light Contemporary Service Worship band. John and his family have been members of 1st UMCSP since 2009. 


    Tommy has been a mainstay professional drummer/percussionist in the Tampa Bay are for many years now.  He has taught both public and private lessons. Over his career, Tommy has performed for numerous regional concerts, national touring, as well as Studio Recording work.  He hopes to bring all of his experience to you as a Music Instructor.  Enjoy your musical journey! 


    Angela grew up a Preacher's Kid in Monroe, LA where her love for the Lord and her love for music led her to receive her Bachelors in Music from Mississippi College and her Masters from New Orleans Seminary.  Her vast knowledge of Vocal Music and performance has led to stages such as the Featured Artist for THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION in Las Vegas, Nevada and THE SUNRISE SERVICE at Sea World (which was televised).  In her travels across the country singing concerts, banquets, and church events, she has learned how to not only share her music vocally but has learned how to best communicate to an audience with excellence and wisdom.

Kenn Mann began his musical journey by playing on a tiny toy piano given to him by his parents at Christmas when he was only 3 years old. The very day he received this gift, he began playing hymns and worship songs to his parent’s amazement.  Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, this southern gentleman has led in Worship and written songs alongside such singers and musicians as Babbie Mason, Charles Billingsley, Vernon Whaley, Derric Johnson and David T. Clydesdale as well as world renowned leaders such as Henry Blackaby and Kay Arthur.


Kenn has written over 50 Choral Anthems for such companies Brentwood/Benson Music, Word Music, Lorenz Publishing and Lillenas Publishing.  He has also written four (4) Choral Musicals; (1) “No More Walls”, a Youth Musical produced by Veggie Tales writer, Steven V. Taylor, (2) “A New Heart For Christmas”, An Adult Christmas Musical created with Disneyworld’s Derric Johnson and Liberty University’s Dean of Music, Vernon Whaley.  (3)  Make Us One”, An Adult Worship Musical, which won the Gospel Music Association’s prestigious Dove Award for “Musical Of The Year” and finally, (4) “After The Cross”, An Adult Easter Musical which premiered at Cypress Gardens, Winter Haven, Florida.


Kenn received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education fromMississippi College, Clinton, Mississippi and went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Church Music from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  He has hosted the WTIS Music Talk Show, “Tampa Bay’s House of Praise” for two years and now serves as the Minister of Worship & Music at First United Methodist Church in Saint Petersburg, Florida for the past seven years.
